Chief Nursing Officer

The Opportunity

Our client seeks a Chief Nursing Officer to lead the process of redevelopment of the practice of nursing under a new management team. With support from a corporate nursing leadership function, the new Chief Nursing Officer will not only be involved in driving new programs and processes in nursing in this flagship operation, but also will play an essential role for developing nursing standards, practices and recruitment and retention efforts across the market of three hospitals. The Medical Center includes 240 beds providing services in orthopedics, cardiac services, bariatric, gero-psych and rehab. Located near the downtown area, the facility is currently undergoing many renovation projects including updating the patient access areas. Community efforts to incorporate the area into a wider plan of technological and community advancements are expected to drive a new/expanded patient population to the Center in the coming years. As part of the new leadership team in the hospital, the new CNO will bring fresh ideas, a commitment to nursing as a profession and contemporary views of improvement in quality, employee satisfaction and integration of the nursing function into total hospital services. Supporting the recently introduced clinical ladder and redesigned nursing pool, very aggressive recruitment practices, and strengthening the empowerment of the nursing staff will be the key goals of the new CNO.
