Opportunity
Golden Plains Community Hospital was recently purchased
by Critical Access Healthcare. With the new owner, the hospital
is embarking on a growth and improvement plan that will
include construction of a new building and recruiting additional
physicians to bring specialty medical care to the community.
As a critical access hospital, Golden Plains offers medical
/ surgical / emergency room, OB, diagnostic, rehab and ancillary
services. It also operates two clinics and a home health
agency. With a seasoned board of directors and a well-developed
management team, the hospital is poised for growth and to
set new standards of excellence in community healthcare.
The
next Chief Executive Officer at Golden Plains Community
Hospital will lead the strategic planning process, guide
day-to-day operations of the hospital and seek active participation
from the community in delivering quality care to residents.
Additionally, the Chief Executive will work with Critical
Access Healthcare to build the new hospital and set the
standard for performance and operations at future CAH acquisitions.

Qualifications
Top candidates for the Chief Executive Officer position must
have a minimum of 10 years in acute care hospital administration,
including five years in a senior operations leadership role.
Experience in the investor-owned arena is preferred. Additionally,
experience in a rural hospital, in particular, critical access
hospitals, is preferred. Demonstrated success in working with
community boards is required. Success in managing to a budget
and facilitating staff development is also essential. The
next Chief Executive must bring high energy to participate
in the growth and development plans of this new organization.
The Location
The community of 14,000 residents sits in a county of 25,000.
With its central location, the city is home to two of the
largest refinery plants in the United States, providing a
strong economic base. The public schools have a long-standing
tradition of excellence, producing National Merit Finalists
and sending students to Ivy League schools. The city invests
in public recreation and events beyond the typical rural community.
The community is just minutes away from plentiful hunting,
fishing and hiking, forty-five minutes from a large regional
airport and four hours from downhill skiing and beautiful
outdoor life. |
