Division Privacy Officer

Catholic Health Initiatives (CHI) has recently reorganized the Corporate Responsibility function to better serve their Market Based Organizations, located throughout the United States.  As part of this reorganization, two new positions were added to serve as resource experts, facilitators and coordinators at a local level.  The organization is the seventh (7th) largest health system in the United States, with operations in 18 states, including 78 hospitals, served by over 70,000 associates.

Our client now seeks two Division Privacy Officers to serve as the resource expert for Market Based Organizations (MBO) in 1. Fargo and 2. Northwest.  The Northwest MBO includes five hospitals in five distinct communities, while Fargo includes 14 hospitals, several long term care facilities, a home health and hospice agency, and a seniors housing unit.  The Division Privacy Officer will hold primary responsibility for implementation of the annual risk assessment at the various MBOs.  As part of the Corporate Responsibility team, the Division Privacy Officer will work with CHI Corporate Responsibility leadership to create and deliver privacy related updates and reports, and to serve as the “go to” person on issues related to privacy in the MBO. The Division Privacy Officers will also be part of the CHI Privacy team moving to establish best practices across the entire system, working within one of the best developed, leading-edge Corporate Responsibility programs in the United States.

Top candidates will bring a minimum of eight years in a healthcare leadership role, with substantial experience in healthcare privacy issues.  Additionally, candidates must have experience in a large, multi-entity system of comparable size and complexity.  Candidates with strong knowledge of HIPAA, Federal Sentencing Guidelines and healthcare fraud and abuse laws is preferred.  An undergraduate degree in healthcare management, HIM or business is required; a Master’s degree or JD is preferred. Certification in healthcare compliance (CHC) or health care privacy and security (CHPS) is preferred, also.
