The Organization

UNTHealth is the physician practice group at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth (UNTHSC). The largest multi-specialty group practice in Tarrant County, UNTHealth has over 230 MD and DO physicians in 29 specialties. Last year UNTHealth had a budget approaching $75 million and the staff saw more than 600,000 patient visits in 32 clinic locations. The practice has experienced significant growth over the last two years that now necessitates expansion of the leadership group.

The UNT Health Science Center includes The Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine, a state-supported medical school that serves as the cornerstone of the institution, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, School of Public Health, Department of Physician Assistant Studies, and School of Health Professions. The Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine has been named as one of the nation's top 50 medical schools for primary care medicine by U.S. News & World Report for the last five consecutive years. Located on 33 acres in the heart of Fort Worth's Cultural District, UNTHSC is committed to providing Texas and the nation the highest quality health professionals. Nineteen faculty members from UNTHealth were named Top Docs for 2006 in the April issue of Fort Worth, Texas magazine.

The Opportunity

As UNTHealth transitions to become Tarrant County’s pre-eminent provider of choice, an Executive Administrative Director is sought to lead the strategic direction, administration and business operations of the UNTHealth Patient Care Center. Located on the main campus, over

210,000 annual patient visits are seen at this center. As the senior operations and financial leader, the Executive Administrative Director will serve to further the creation of a “patient first” culture. The Executive Administrative Director will work with UNTHealth leadership and subordinate managers to develop strategies to centralize and coordinate ambulatory services to ensure seamless patient encounters and business operations.

Qualifications

A master’s degree in healthcare administration, business or nursing is required. Additionally, a minimum of five years in a leadership role in academic healthcare delivery or ambulatory care is required. A clinical background and experience in a multi-specialty environment is strongly preferred. Top candidates will have a strong working knowledge of patient flow, facilities management and healthcare finance, as well as demonstrated efficacy working with medical staff.
