Opportunity
Our client is a 164-bed Medical Center that has grown and
prospered to serve the area population with full services
including emergency department, pediatrics, women's services,
ICU, cardiology, inpatient physical rehabilitation, cardiac
catheterization lab and therapies. The hospital has just begun
construction of a new 30,000 square-foot, ambulatory building
that will include out-patient imaging, rehab, wellness center,
education center and new office space; a second building will
house an 11,000 square foot cancer center. It is also moving
and expanding services such as women's & children's and
skilled nursing acute care. The organization recently upgraded
all of its information systems with the installation of McKesson
clinical and management information systems and has agreed
to be one of the first sites to install the CPOE system. In
addition, a PACS is being added. As an organization committed
to quality and education, our client has inculcated the Studer
Group's, “Five Pillars of Excellence” into its management
practices.
Due
to promotion, the Medical Center now seeks a Director, Emergency
Services to lead staff in delivering quality emergency services
and trauma care. The medical center is designated as the
lead Level III trauma center in the RAC and sees over 22,000
visits annually.

The
department also offers an on-site air medical helicopter
to expedite the transfer of critically ill or injured patients.
Current building plans include expansion of the Emergency
Department to approximately double its current size.
Qualifications
Qualified
candidates must possess a minimum of five years current
acute care practice with charge and/or nursing management
experience , including demonstrable expertise in emergency
department nursing in an acute care hospital; experience
at the director level is strongly preferred. Experience
with PI and Studer programs is a plus. A bachelor's degree
is strongly preferred. RN is required.
