The
Opportunity
Our
client, a 500+ physician, university based practice plan
is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to lead all financial
functions in a multi-specialty practice setting with net
revenue of approximately $161M ($255 gross) Last year the
practice plan earned approximately $6M and is in overall,
very good financial stead. The CFO will report directly
to the Practice Plan Executive Director for operations oversight,
and to the Health System CFO regarding financial policy/procedure
and consistency. The CFO will interact and provide financial
analysis and recommendations, in conjunction with the Executive
Director, to the Physicians Board, and with the Health System
CFO to the System Board.
As a key member of Practice Plan Administration the new
Chief Financial Officer will provide strategic and tactical
economic recommendations to the Practice Board, the Executive
Director, and the System CFO. The CFO has operating responsibility
for all aspects of financial management and systems development,
budget development and preparation, and the monitoring of
financial controls. Also, the CFO will provide support and
act in advisory capacity to the clinical departments. Working
in concert with executive leadership of the Practice Plan,
the Health System, and the School of Medicine, the CFO will
be integral to developing a financial plan to enable the
Practice Plan to build long-term financial strength, and
to propose annual financial goals and objectives consistent
with this strategy.

Qualifications
Qualified
candidates must have earned a Bachelors degree and have
a strong accounting background; CPA required; completion
of a Masters degree is preferred but equivalent experience
may be substituted. A minimum of ten years in healthcare
finance is required; three years in a senior leadership
capacity in a physician practice setting of comparable size
and complexity is also required; experience in academic
healthcare is strongly preferred.
